My name is Maddie I used to be a regular girl. I went to the Grand Canyon with my friends and fell off, but weirdly, I sprouted wings.

My friends thought I died, but nope, I survived. Now I’m some weird bird girl. For some reason, I can retract my wings so that I can hide them. Now I hide my true identity ’cause my friends think I’m dead.

I’m chilling in the hospital right now and hiding my wings. As soon as the nurses leave the room, I’m going to bolt and use those wings of mine to fly away. I mean, what do we even have these wings for? Am I some sort of government experiment, and they didn’t realize they experimented on me or something?

I scan my surroundings, no nurses or doctors. Perfect. I can make my run now. I go over the window and bring out my wings. I hear a gasp behind me. Nurse has spotted me!

I jump. “No, stop!” she cries. “Come back!” She watches in horror as I plummet, but then that turns to shock as she watches me flap my wings.
