Chapter One
Hi, my name is Lizzie. I love dogs. I wanted to be a dog sitter but no one in my building wanted me dog sit. Since I need a way to make money for soccer camp, I put up flyers advertising a dog sitting business. I then waited for people to walk by, but no one walked by.
I waited and waited. Finally, a person walked by and asked me if I could meet at her apartment, number 307, tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. sharp. I said, “Yes!”
The next day I met her at her apartment. She told me that she needed me to dog sit until 5:00 that night. I walked in to see 25 dogs sitting in a row! They start wagging their tails and I realized that she loves dogs. She said she would be back at 5:00. Then she left.
I looked at all the dogs. It’s so good, though, that I asked them what we should do. They all stared at the toy basket. I assumed they wanted me to play with them, so I grabbed a ball. They all sat their wagging their tails, waiting for me to throw it. I threw the ball for them and they went crazy! I played fetch with them for about 20 minutes. Before I knew it, it was 5:00 and I had to go home.
When the lady returned, I asked her, “Can I come back tomorrow around 12:00 and sit until 5:00?”
She said, “Yes that would be great. If you could actually work until 6:00 that would be awesome.” I went home and ate dinner, then went to bed. I slept amazing.
Chapter Two
The next morning, I woke up at 11:55 and realized that it was 11:55! I had to go dog sit! I jumped out of bed, put on clothes, and rushed to her apartment. When I made it up to her apartment, she was just walking out. She told me to feed the dogs and play with them. I walked in and fed all 25 dogs, then realized I didn’t know their names.
A golden retriever walked up to me and looked at me, then he started talking!! I was completely shocked! I didn’t know what to say. I decided to take all the dogs for a walk in Central Park. I gathered all 25 leashes and connected them to a single leash.
We like Central Park. I bought them some dog treats. Then I asked the talking golden retriever, “Do all the other dogs talk?”
He said, “Yes, they all do. The owner adopted them from shelters.”
I asked them what their owner’s name was. They said it was Betsy. I asked them what her job was. They said that she’s a fashion model. I asked them who she worked with. They said, “Sophia Fugazi.” Then I realized that she wasn’t any ordinary fashion model. She worked with one of the world’s most famous fashion designer ever.
To finish, I asked Betsy if I could go and meet Sophia Fugazi with her next time she went to work. She said, “Yes.” She said to meet her in Central Park next Tuesday at 5:00 p.m., and she would take me to meet Sophie Fugazi.
I was so excited that I had to go shopping immediately to find the perfect outfit. The next day I went into the mall and went through Macy’s, Dillard’s, and all of the fancy stores.
Chapter Three
Before I knew it, it was Tuesday. I was so excited that I could barely even speak! I waited in Central Park for her. She walked up with Sofia! She said that Sophia was going to make me a few outfits! I was so excited that I couldn’t even believe it.
They said that we would go back to Sophia Fugazi’s studio and that she would take my measurements and everything like that. We went to the studio and took to my measurements, my waist and everything. Then I picked out materials for an outfit. Sophia said she would hand make it and give it to me for no cost! I was having the best time ever!
Then she said that she had to get back to work. Betsy told me I could go back to her apartment and see the dogs. I can even make a little more money. Sophia Fugazi told me my three outfits would be ready in about four weeks. I was so excited that I couldn’t even wait.
I went back to the apartment. I decided I would play with the dogs, so I played fetch, tug of war, and taught them tricks. I couldn’t wait to show Betsy! I couldn’t wait to show her what I taught the dogs.
Sofia came over in a few weeks, and my outfits were amazing. I was so happy.
The dogs have been well trained and taken so well care of. Betsy told me she didn’t need a doctor anymore because she found a new job where she could work from home. I told her, “That’s great and I’m so happy that you found a job!”
She said, “I’ll let you know if I need you to dog sit again.”
And that’s the story of Lizzie.
